Case Study | Soft Tissue Injury

This helped diagnose the issues with my horse; helped me to know what professional I needed to sort out my horse’s problems, saved me lots of money trying to find out what the issues were. I have already recommended this service to other yards and friends.

Horse DetailsClydesdale x Dutch Warmblood, 19 year old, Working Hunter
HistoryDespite the age of the horse it remained active, including competing in working hunter events.  2-3 weeks prior to ThermScan’s visit, the horse started showing reluctance to trot, which was worse on turn; both reins were affected.  ThermScan was contacted to perform a full body scan to try and identify any issues.
DiagnosticsThermScan performed full body thermal scan and produced a comprehensive report which was explained to the owner.  Relevant images are shown below:
OutcomeThermScan’s report identified various areas of abnormal thermal pattern – N/S (LT) distal hind, thoracic spine and pelvis. As a result the horse’s owner engaged an equine physio. Subsequent sessions of deep muscle stimulation were carried out.  Following treatment the horse returned to work.
